Teddy Calloway, the OG founding member of Colorado's Shakedown St. has passed away.

Shakedown St. was the Glue that held us Co. kids together during the days Between for a long time back in the day. He was the epitome of a kind, gentle caring Dead Head and human being. He and the band were our saving grace on a Friday night in Denver, he loved the late 70's disco dead tone but could throw a soft ballad down and bring you to tears.

The boys would play at the Mishawaka Amp. every Memorial day weekend in the 90s. If you were into the Dead and lived in Co. at the time you were there. Four days of camping on the Poudre with out a care in the world. They would do a Friday night standard set to appease the surrounding neighbors and the wild life. After that.. the gloves where off. Four sets on Saturday maybe five. Ted loved filling the valley with music. Fishing for diner during sound check is one of my most cherished memories.

One of things He was good at was caring for people. He gave us a place to have what we needed if only for a few days.

I will never take that time of my life for granted.
