Trump might inadvertently help the environment by forcing us off of fossil fuels
A non-US perspective here but in India people are seeing major shortages of LPG. People are hoarding cylinders and the price went up from like $10 to $50 overnight. Restaurants are shutting down en masse. Induction cooktops are flying off the shelves. At the moment you can't buy a single induction stove from a reputed brand on Amazon.
Gas and Diesel is still available but when reserves run out, there will be a great push towards electric vehicles. It has already been happening for a year or two as gas hit greater than $4 a gallon here. Every second scooter I see on the roads is electric. And every fifth car. This is in the third world.
By disrupting the global oil supply chain with this war, I think Trump is taking a huge step towards weaning us off of fossil fuels. Just like he somewhat weaned us off of Chinese industry with Covid.
On the outside he may look like a stooge of the deep state destroying the world for fun. But if you look closer, maybe he's actually trying to do some good.
