Parking tips for Keystone Wrestling Championships at Bryce Jordan Center (State College 03/14)

yo i know a ton of people are heading to state college for the keystone wrestling championships on 03/14 and the parking situation at the bryce jordan center is always a massive mess for these big tournaments. the morning rush for the 8:00 am start time is basically a guarantee for gridlock near beaver stadium so you definitely want a plan before you get there.

honestly you should check out Prked first. it is an app where you can rent out driveways or private garage spots from people living right near the university. it is usually way cheaper than the campus lots and it lets you skip the huge line of cars trying to squeeze into the main stadium lots. it is a much more chill experience and you usually have a shorter walk to the entrance since you arent stuck in the back of an overflow field.

if you decide to use the official university parking your main choices are the jordan east stadium west and porter north lots. you really need to go onto parkwhiz and prepay before 03/14 to get the discounted rate which is usually around five or six dollars. if you wait until you get there on saturday morning they will charge you ten dollars at the gate and some of the lots might stop taking cash altogether. just a heads-up that you have to park head-in with your license plate facing the aisle because the parking enforcement officers are super strict and will ticket you in a heartbeat if they cant scan your plate.

if the main lots are totally packed you can try the east deck on bigler road but that is mostly hourly and can get expensive if you are there all day. another smart move is to park in one of the downtown state college garages like the beaver avenue or pugh street decks. they only charge about a dollar-fifty an hour and you can hop on the free cata blue loop or white loop bus which drops you right in front of the jordan center. this is actually a great way to avoid the traffic jam when everyone tries to leave at the same time after the final matches.

definitely try to roll into town by 7:00 am because university drive and park avenue get backed up fast with all the families and team buses. sticking to the commuter lots or a private spot is your best bet to stay sane. hope this helps you guys have a great tournament.
