"conventional" beliefs???

I always wanted to know this. Since i never had an answer for this. Im asking it out of curiosity only not hatred. So if "men" are expected to earn and women usually prefer a rich guy over a broke one, why's it that it's often stated as to being the same as a man wanting a pretty girl and not an unattractive one? Like why are women being limited only to their looks which are just biological mostly, meanwhile men are referred to as on their money? Aren't we women also capable to earn and provide for the family? Shouldn't men also respect women enough to want a "rich girl" and not a broke one? I always find people saying they want to marry a rich guy, but everytime they say it, i somehow link it to emphasis on this same thing. And it somehow boils my blood too. And women giving birth is purely a choice thing, not an obligation.

Isn't this also one form of patriarchy?
