WIBTAH for ignoring a heartfelt message?
im having a bit of a moral dilemma here and idek what im supposed to do
so a bit of backstory: i (16f) used to be friends with someone we'll call Madison n (17f). when we were 12 and 13 (respectively), she started emotionally manipulating me and using me. she would try to 'pavlov' me into being happy when i heard her name, and made it so i was asking her permission to hang out with others (even my own family!) at the time, i was a super nerd who had one good friend (i'll call her Samantha). i desperately needed anither person to understand me. it started off small, but Madison eventually got me to a place of feeling so insecure i developed an ed (she called me fat and ive always been very slim, and as an athlete the ed just ruined my life). not only did she impact me like this physically, but after dominating me mentally, she decided she'd had enough. she convinced Samantha to ditch me and told everyone in my school that i did drugs and thats why i was suddenly so tired and thin.
after that year, i went to therapy and moved on, confronted her and publicly humiliated her, basically got my revenge. maybe not the kindest route but it worked.
anyways, fast forward to today. i'm sitting in class when all of a sudden, i see that Madison sent me a text. it was really weird because we hadn't talked in ages, and i had gone to a private school and left her behind. it was a complete wall of text, about 800 words. she was saying that she had found old pictures of us together, and told me why she abandoned me so suddenly. she said other people were telling her i wasn't worth it, so she trusted them. she was sorry and wanted me to know she hadn't forgotten about me.
well idfk what to do about that. she ruined my life and walked away without any consequences, and now she's sending me this beautiful heartfelt message. only i don't forgive her? should i? wibtah if i ignored it? pls help reddit, idk what to doooo
