Lens barrel has a small crack, cheap new replacement lens?

Canon eos rebel 35-80mm EF lens has a small crack in the barrel, wanted something I can travel with so I’m looking at 2 options right now:

Canon 50 mm f/1.8

Canon ef-s 24mm f/2.8

I want something I can thrown in my carry pouch and not have big ass muzzle of a lens.

I mostly shoot portraits and landscapes.
