Should I play the Pier mission with friends if they haven’t finished the main game yet?

I played the full game last year as well as Dark Waters, Home Invasion, and Los Sueños Stories. Recently my friends have started playing the game and we’re going through all of the levels together. Currently we’re at the mission at Amos Voll’s house.

I booted up the game today to check out the updates around the police station as well as new guns and customization. The most noticeable change is the protesting outside, but every pair of police officers talking seems to take place after the pier mission. I don’t want them to get spoiled on anything just walking around changing loadouts or whatever.

My immediate thought is that me and my friends should play the pier mission, then go back to the main game and other DLC’s and then finish the game with the other two Boiling Point missions. Will this ruin anything for them? What would you recommend as the play through order?
