FAI causing Erectile Dysfunction

Bilateral FAI

Hello. 29 year old male. May of 2024 was when while suddenly exercising (doing step ups) my hips suddenly felt weird before my pelvic floor, privates and such had intense pain and spasms. After months of physical therapy, I finally got an x ray (September 2024) and was diagnosed with bilateral FAI, mostly the right being the worst. It has prevented me from doing most core exercises (which I need for my moderate scoliosis, also x rayed in September 2024). Since then, I would have very random erectile dysfunction moments which has caused me intense depression.

Finally had an MRI for my hips in January 2026. Left hip was fine, but the right with some tearing of the labrum with small paralabral cysts. I see an ortho surgeon next week to see if surgery is a option.

Any advice of how to combat this or talk about the ED with my doctor? Feeling hopeless right now.
