How long does it take your team to write a single bug report? Trying to understand how much time QA actually spends on this
We're trying to map out where QA time actually goes in a sprint cycle and bug reporting keeps coming up.
Curious how long it realistically takes your team to write a single bug report from scratch — including:
- Taking and annotating the screenshot
- Writing steps to reproduce
- Setting severity / priority
- Attaching it to Jira/Linear/whatever you use
Is it 5 minutes? 15 minutes? More?
And what's the most annoying part of the process — is it the writing, finding the right project to file under, getting the screenshot attached properly, or something else?
Asking because I'm doing research on QA workflows and want to understand where the real friction is before drawing any conclusions.
