Is there a realistic backup for me as someone that’s switching careers?
Hi everyone! I’m 26F and taking some prerequisite classes to apply to a healthcare program at the end of this year. But with much consideration, I decided that I need to find a more feasible back up plan just incase.
For background, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Finance but found out pretty early I have absolutely no desire to progress into marketing since I found it unfulfilling. I initially wanted a career switch while working in Medical Equipment because I found my job to be more “useful”. After research and careful planning, I made the choice to pursue the healthcare field so that I can be a greater factor in peoples lives. However the programs are competitive, and with no relevant experience in the medical field and relatively low GPA, I do not expect to get accepted into a program, especially on my first try. Please note that I am actively looking to shadow, volunteer, and do almost anything to increase my chances so it’s not like I’ll be doing the bare minimum either haha.
I’m really trying to be realistic here, I feel I’m at the age I need to be more serious with a career. If healthcare doesn’t work for me, is there any other area that I could utilize Math, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics? I would hate for those classes to go to waste especially with my interest in them. I also have interest in aviation and basically anything science, and I have reasonable experience in Business Administration.
I appreciate anyone that took the time to read this, and for any comments!!
