Spent a week talking to developers about bug reporting — here's what I found (feedback welcome)

I've been doing customer discovery for a potential micro-SaaS and spent the past week talking to developers and QA engineers about how they handle bug reports. Here's what came up repeatedly:

  1. The average bug report takes 8–12 minutes to write properly (screenshot, steps, severity, context)

  2. Most of that time isn't the writing — it's going back and forth between the browser, screenshot tool, annotation tool, and Jira/Linear

  3. When bugs are reported quickly (e.g. from Slack), they almost always lack enough context to reproduce

  4. The people who care most about this are QA engineers and developers who review incoming reports — not the people filing them

The idea I'm exploring: a tool where you paste a screenshot, annotate it visually, and AI auto-fills a structured bug report that you push to Linear or Jira in one click.

Does this match what you've seen? Has anyone tried something like this? I'm trying to figure out whether the real problem is report quality, report speed, or something else entirely.
