Parking tips for Finalist 2 vs Finalist 1 at LoanDepot Park (Miami 03/17)
getting ready for the world baseball classic final at loandepot park on 03/17 is going to be wild but honestly the parking situation in little havana can be a total nightmare if you dont have a plan. the traffic around the stadium usually gets backed up for miles before the 8:00 pm start time and leaving the official garages can take forever after the game ends.
if you want to avoid the massive garage lines and save some money i definitely recommend checking out Prked. you can use the app to find and rent private driveways or garages right next to loandepot park from locals. it is way cheaper than the official lots and since you are not stuck in the main garage spiral you can usually get out and on the highway much faster after the final out. it is just a short walk to the gates and feels much more chill.
if you decide to go with official stadium parking make sure you pre-pay online because the four main garages north south east and west fill up fast for big games like this. they use a license plate recognition system now so you dont even get a physical ticket but you have to make sure your plate is registered in their system or through the paybyphone app to avoid a ticket. the north and west garages are usually the busiest so try the south or east ones if you have a choice.
there are also some surface lots like lots e f and g or the p3 lot that are a bit further out but sometimes easier to exit. just a heads up that the city is really strict about residential street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods so unless you see a clearly marked private lot with an attendant do not just park on a side street or you will probably get towed. they use specific zone numbers like 410 for some of the street parking nearby so keep an eye out for those signs if you try your luck with on-street spots.
for those coming from further away you might want to look into the metrorail. you can park at a station further out and take the train to the culmer or civic center stations then grab a quick rideshare or check if the stadium is running the shuttle buses that day. also the freebee miami service sometimes operates electric shuttles in the area which is a cool way to get around if you find a spot a few blocks away.
give yourself plenty of time and try to arrive at least 90 minutes or two hours before first pitch because the intersection of nw 12th ave and nw 7th st gets absolutely gridlocked on game days. coming from the dolphin expressway or i-95 will be slow going especially since it is also saint patricks day so just be patient with the miami traffic. hope this helps and enjoy the championship.
