Why do people kick you if you've been disconnected?

This something I have encountered a couple of times, and has been playing on my mind. In both recent instances I've been far travelling to an event (and part of a casual team) just to get disconnected from the game before it fully loads. When rebooting the game I join the team again but then I'm kicked 2 seconds later by the team leader. So my question is why do people to do this? Is it a bug and not actually the players? I've missed out on Fasnacht, Alien Invaders and last time Colossal Problem, which is most annoying as Im trying to get the casual under armor style because of course the moment I get my hands on shielded under armor lining Beth changes how underarmors work.
