Husband is disabled and I feel like the protector
Hey everyone. I have read some comments by very insightful, wise people on this subreddit and was wondering for more elaboration on this topic.
Without going into too much detail, I have a husband who is disabled. I take on the role as protector at night, and also make sure that he is cared for, along with our 6 month old daughter. He works, which allows me to stay home most days with baby, which is a HUGE blessing. It's mainly when he comes home and needs to rest. I'm making sure that he isn't pushing himself too hard, while also caring for little one.
If you have experience with a disabled spouse, more specifically a husband, how do you decide on leadership roles within the family? What can he do to still be the leader, even though I take on certain roles such as protector of the house at night? Sometimes I find myself wishing that he could do more, like help me with baby during the night, but it's not possible. How do I not become resentful?
Thanks
