Blender freezes when opening Shader Editor or Material Preview (low-spec laptop)

Unsolved

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with Blender and I’m hoping someone here might have experienced something similar.

I'm using a low-spec laptop with integrated graphics (no dedicated GPU). Blender runs okay for basic modeling, but whenever I try to:

Open the Shader Editor, or

Switch the viewport to Material Preview / Rendered view

Blender becomes Not Responding and completely freezes.

Because of this, I'm unable to work with materials, textures, or shaders, which is stopping my project progress.

I’m wondering:

Has anyone else faced this issue with integrated graphics or low-end hardware?

Are there any settings, tweaks, or workarounds to make the Shader Editor usable?

Would switching to CPU rendering or changing certain preferences help?

For context, I'm working on a simple room scene and not using any heavy models or textures yet.

Any suggestions or solutions would really help. Thanks!
