22M after 6 months of mutual closeness with a friend 22F, things changed

There’s a girl 22F, I 22M care deeply about. we were very good friends and there was mutual liking. She expressed it more through her actions and consistency, and at that time she was genuinely putting in her full effort. I cared about her and did put in effort, but I wasn’t able to reciprocate at the same level because I was dealing with my own personal issues then. I showed up inconsistently and emotionally under-delivered. Things between us were warm, mutual, and emotionally safe. Then I made a mistake

I didn’t text her for almost a full month because of exam pressure and family issues (Tbh, I was very naive to think that she would be always there for me - pls don't judge because I was in relationship for first time so doesn't know anything about it).It wasn’t intentional harm , but the impact was real.

When I reached out again, she wasn’t the same. The closeness was gone. She answers my text with a long gap and just replies in one words.

When I asked what changed, she told me that she’s no longer interested in romantic things and that her perspective has changed. Around the same time, I heard from one of our mutual friend (F) that she’s under a lot of stress — confused about her master’s, unsure whether to pursue it in India or go abroad, and feeling mentally overwhelmed. I don’t know for sure how much of this is true, but it matches the emotional distance I’m seeing.

My overthinking - whether in that one month of no contact, she may have emotionally moved on or met someone else. She hasn’t said that she has, but the uncertainty adds to my confusion.

Now I’m stuck between two conflicting thoughts.

One part of me says: Be present. Be consistent. Not in an emotional or needy way — just light, normal conversation, no pressure. I genuinely care about her as a person and don’t want her to feel alone during a stressful phase. I don’t expect anything in return.

The other part of me warns: Being constantly available might come off as chasing. It could irritate her or push her further away, especially since she’s already said she doesn’t want anything romantic. What I call “consistency” might feel like pressure from her side.

What's should I do to again win her previous version?

TL;DR, We were good friends with mutual liking. She valued consistency and was putting in a lot of effort. I cared but showed up inconsistently due to personal issues and didn’t reciprocate fully. I went silent for a month, and when I reached out again, she said she’s no longer interested in romantic things and has emotionally pulled back. I’m now torn between giving respectful space (no contact), staying lightly present without expectations (consistency), or letting go entirely. Looking for advice on which approach is healthiest and least likely to push her further away.
