If suicide was legal, destigmatized, and we had actual suicide clinics, then most of society’s biggest problems would be fixed.
If suicide was legal, accepted, and there were clean, safe, medical clinics where people could go when life became unbearable, then every major societal problem would shrink or straight-up disappear. Take drugs and crime, for example. The huge majority of addicts are self-medicating deep mental illness, trauma, depression, whatever. They turn to drugs, then to crime to pay for the drugs, then they procreate (usually while still fucked up), and boom — the kids inherit the genetics plus the awful environment and the cycle repeats forever. If suicide clinics existed, a lot of those people at rock bottom would probably just choose a peaceful, dignified exit instead of numbing themselves and dragging everyone down with them. Drug epidemics shrink, street crime drops hard, prisons stop overflowing, and we stop creating new generations of damaged kids. Win-win for everyone who’s left. Same with mental and physical illness in general. All the chronic pain cases, treatment-resistant depression, terminal stuff that turns life into pure torture, right now they drain families emotionally and financially for decades, clog up hospitals, and wreck the whole healthcare system. With clinics, people could opt out on their own terms instead of suffering for 20–30 years. The system wouldn’t be crushed, families wouldn’t be destroyed watching slow decay. Homelessness and poverty, Instead of millions slowly dying on the streets in humiliation, freezing, sick, turning to crime or drugs just to survive another day, they could walk into a clinic and end it cleanly. No more tent cities, no more endless welfare spending that never actually fixes anything, no more people living in misery because “suicide is wrong.” Even bigger stuff: overpopulation, environmental collapse, resource wars. When people stop feeling trapped in a broken system and forced to keep grinding + breeding just to survive, birth rates among the most unstable parts of society drop naturally. Less consumption, less pollution, less pressure on the planet overall. And yeah, the elites and mega-corps would hate it their endless supply of desperate workers and consumers would dry up. But for actual society suffering plummets, crime plummets, addiction plummets, generational trauma gets broken, healthcare and welfare systems breathe again. I’m not saying force anyone. I’m just saying it should be pushed on people. Just that making it a real, stigma-free option for adults who’ve had enough would solve problems that “more therapy” and “more funding” and “just think positive” have never touched.
This is my openion and i truly believe in it.
