Does wallet credit prize work? Any rules?

I’m trying to decide between keeping my item vs claiming the $100 credit. But I don’t want my time wasted if the credit doesn’t actually work (I’m at 99.97%). I’ve won twice so far and got physical items. A quick google searched mentioned that sometimes the wallet credit doesn’t actually work and doesn’t let you checkout at the . It can even mark it as a fraudulent purchase. HELP, is this true?
