Career advice: MS Environmental Science vs Environmental Planning diploma (EnP route) in the Philippines?
Hi everyone,
I’m graduating this year with a BS in Environmental Science from Tarlac State University (TSU) and I’m currently thinking about what path to take next.
Right now, I’m considering two options:
Option 1: Pursue a Master of Science in Environmental Science at UPLB.
Option 2: Take a **Diploma in Environmental Planning** first so I can qualify for the **Environmental Planner (EnP) PRC licensure exam**, then pursue a **Master’s in Environmental Science afterward**.
I’m interested in both the scientific and policy/planning sides of environmental work, so I’m trying to figure out which route would make more sense in the long run.
Another thing I’m wondering about is whether this would still be **doable while working full-time after graduation**, especially if I pursue the diploma or a master’s degree.
For those working in environmental science, planning, or related fields in the Philippines:
* Which path would you recommend and why?
* Is the **Diploma in Environmental Planning → EnP license → MS later** a practical route?
* How manageable is graduate school (UPLB or similar programs) while working?
Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences or advice. Thanks!
