How do I stop the urge to text my ex? (4 months post breakup, 3 months no contact, I was dumped without any proper closure)

I’m about 4 months post breakup and I’m struggling with the urge to text my ex.

Right after the breakup I kept texting her asking if we could get back together. Most of the time she didn’t reply, and when she did the replies were really cold. She said she doesn’t want to get back together, that she doesn’t love me anymore, and that she feels like I ruined everything.

After that I decided to go no contact, and it’s been about 3 months now without messaging her.

But I still get strong urges to text her. Sometimes I want to ask her to come back, sometimes I want to tell her I still love her. I know logically that reaching out probably won’t change anything and might just reopen wounds, but emotionally it’s really hard to resist.

For people who went through something similar:

•	How did you control the urge to text your ex?

•	Did the feeling eventually go away?

•	Are there any practical things that helped you stick to no contact?

Would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.

Emotionally I am at a very bad place right now.

I am very depressed and find it hard to do even the basic stuff daily.

Getting out of bed has become a task for me.

I have been dealing with low self esteem as well.

Overall in a really bad place and I have no idea how I will make it through the day.

I just feel like she tore my heart apart into pieces and threw it into the ocean.
