I had to tell my husband the hard truth and I feel like a jerk

I feel like such a jerk I had to tell my husband the hard truth about his weight. We have had a few talks but I don't think it's really clicked until today. He shaved his beard off cause his skin was irritated and he wanted to clean it and it was too long to be able to do that.

He shaved, he noticed, I noticed. He had gained weight in his face.

We already knew he had gained weight in his stomach that was no question and it was OK for a bit but I felt it's gotten to the point it's incredibly unhealthy. He doesn't eat well drinks a lot of soda, candy and junk food, etc.

I know I'm not much better but I am going to a gym I'm trying to better myself. I will need to start doing some meal preps but I know that's a difficult step for me.

I had to talk to him about it cause it is incredibly concerning. I also had to talk to him about his clothes how none of them fit him anymore and he keeps wearing clothes he wore as a teenager/young adult which do not fit him at all.

He is having such a hard time right now I can see the disappointment in himself in his face and the self loathing.

I feel like an @$$ but I know I did the right thing for his health since he is having A LOT of health problems as well right now.

I know it's a hard conversation for anyone cause no one wants to be told their overweight. I know this guilt will eat at me for a bit but I hope he knows I love him and I just want him to be healthy.
