First time on Tactician - any tips for Creche?
I've played many times - I'm not the strongest on strategy on games (by any stretch) and BG3 was my first turn based dnd type game so it was a learning curve starting with easy mode, have been on balanced for a while but realised it wasn't really a challenge so while I said I never would I decided to give Tactician a go. I had a party wipe in the temple (should have waited rather than going there before the grove) but since it's been okay, occasionally someone will die but haven't needed any revivify scrolls/withers. I do have the advantage of seeing everything many times on my other playthroughs even though it is a bit different - for example I knew to stay up high when fighting grym which was a bit cheesy but I am okay with that sometimes.
I am about to go to the creche at level 6 having done all of the rest of act1, and I know the githyanki can be challenging. Any tips or advice?
This is the team I am currently planning on taking - Karlach as a throwbarian build, Lae'zel as battlemaster, Astarion as gloomstalker/thief and my Tav as a cleric of light with one level of storm sorc for movement and shield spell. Normally I wouldn't take two frontline fighters but not sure how well Gale (evoc wizard) or Wyll (I think he is fiend warlock, I don't remember as I haven't brought him out much, poor Wyll). Given I already have a cleric and she will disapprove of any time I support Lae'zel at the creche I wasn't planning on bringing shadowheart.
I made Karlach giant barb so I could try hammerhaft with elemental cleaver against grym, but I do have the returning pike so could respect to beserker. Astarion has the titanstring and his offhand is the club of hill giant strength, did get a bunch of potions too though if that isn't enough. My cleric has the phalur aluve just for the boost. Lae'zel is currently using the Everburn (thanks to Command:drop, I had no hope of fighting for it!) but was thinking of switching, also have sword of justice and jorgoral's, was planning to try to get soulbreaker at the creche for her.
