Secure boot issues

So I have a win11 pc and I have had secure boot enabled before and had no issues but after idk how long it will disable itself and now when I try to enable it after I hit the apply settings button in my bios I get stuck on a black screen and I don't know why when it's worked before. I can turn my pc off then back on and get back into the bios and turn it off and my pc works fine again. So I am very confused as to why it doesn't work all of a sudden.
