Parking tips for PBR at KFC Yum! Center (Louisville 03/14)

yo everyone headed to pbr at kfc yum center on 03/14 should definitely plan out where to put your car because downtown louisville gets super crowded for these events. parking can be a total headache with thousands of people trying to get into the arena at the same time and the traffic patterns can be pretty frustrating if you are not prepared.

honestly you should look into Prked first. it lets you rent out driveways or private garage spots from people right near the venue. it is usually way cheaper than the official event lots and you get to skip the massive line of cars trying to exit the big commercial garages after the show ends. it is a great way to find a guaranteed spot and it is just a short walk so you can get to your seat way faster.

the official kfc yum center garage is located right under the building with an entrance on second street but it only has about 525 spots. it almost always fills up at least two hours before the event starts so do not bank on getting in there unless you are super early. the galt house garage is another very popular choice because it connects directly to the arena via a skywalk which is great if the weather is bad but it is usually one of the most expensive options in the area.

other nearby options include the riverside parking lot and the first and main garage which are both very close. the muhammad ali center garage is about a three block walk away and sometimes stays a little less congested than the lots right on main street. if you are looking for more alternatives check out the humana garage or the withrow garage on sixth street. since the event is on a saturday 03/14 keep in mind that street meters in louisville are usually free after 6 pm but finding an open spot within walking distance will be like winning the lottery so do not count on it.

traffic usually gets backed up on main street and market street because they are one-way and narrow in some spots so try to avoid driving straight through the heart of downtown right before 6:45 pm. the second street bridge can also be a major bottleneck if you are coming over from indiana so give yourself at least thirty extra minutes of travel time. hope this helps and have a blast at the show.
