Parking tips for Royal Palm Beach Seafood Festival at Royal Palm Beach Commons Park (Royal Palm Beach 03/14)
hey if you are heading out to the royal palm beach seafood festival on 03/14 or 03/15 you definitely need a plan for your car because the area around commons park gets totally jammed.
honestly you should look at Prked first to see if anyone is renting out a driveway or private spot nearby. it is way cheaper than the paid lots and it lets you skip the massive line of cars trying to crawl into the park entrance. being able to just walk a few minutes from a reserved spot is a game changer when traffic on poinciana boulevard is backed up for miles.
the main parking is right on site at royal palm beach commons park and they usually ask for a small donation for a local charity to use the grass lots. these spots fill up incredibly fast so if you are not there by 11:00 am on 03/14 you are going to be circling for a long time. just a heads up that if it has rained recently those fields get super muddy and i have seen cars get stuck before so try to find a high spot if you can.
traffic patterns are a nightmare during the festival especially at the intersection of okeechobee boulevard and royal palm beach boulevard. it is usually a bit faster to come in from the south off southern boulevard and head north instead of fighting the crowds coming from the highway. whatever you do do not park on the grass shoulders or in the nearby residential neighborhoods where there are no parking signs because the local police are very active and will tow you in a heartbeat.
some people try to park at the shopping centers nearby like the ones on the corner of okeechobee but those lots are for customers only and they often have security watching for festival goers. if the main park lot is totally full you might have to look for overflow at local schools but it is a pretty long trek from there. 03/15 is sometimes a little bit quieter in the early morning but by noon it is just as packed as saturday.
hope this helps and you get to enjoy all that seafood.
