Memes from a timeline developed for a shared Roblox NRP that eventually became its own thing for me.

1. Haubstadt (Officially the Republic of New Prussia) is a German-American state that had got itself together by 2122 and was chill. Everywhere else around it (bar Tell City) was not. Evansville had once been a corporatocracy, then a socialist republic, then a dictatorship, now a liberal republic. Santa Claus was in a three way civil war between Christian nationalists, liberal republicans (as in supporters of a republic, not GOP), and syndicalist ‘elves’. Not fun.

2. Louisville has bigger priorities than Indiana, but that doesn’t mean it won’t establish a few marches to protect its western flank while it fights yet another war against the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the east.

3. The USAF did not like what Indiana had going on, so salted the fields and bombed much of the border to shit so as to avoid the Corporate Government’s advance. It worked… and killed a lot of people.

4. Terra Haute, after a deep freeze struck the Rust Belt, was taken over by an ecofascist cult, who decried a holy war against the Corpocrats who wrought God’s wrath upon Indiana. Bloomfield, however, only got regular hippyism. Losers.

5&6. The Indianapolis Thunderdome is a four-way conflict between the Indianapolis Corporate Government in the center, the February Revolutionaries (and Racers of the 500) scattered about their territory, the Green Army of Terra Haute to the west, and the Hoosier National Revolutionary Army to the north. Unfortunately, the only normal ones are the February Revolutionaries.

7. As for how it started? Mercenaries sent to put down the revolutionaries weren’t paid well enough and revolted. The revolutionaries got more powerful. The Green Army invaded. The HNRA launched their already planned invasion for the reclamation of Indianapolis after the corporate coup forced them north into Lafayette. That’s the general gist, at least.

8. Corporate Executives would try to flee the rapidly collapsing situation, but would ruthlessly be hunted down by the FR, most vehemently by the Bloomington Popular Front, a socialist organization within the FR’s big tent movement.

9. Oh, and the HRNA? A hot mess fueled only by wanting to reclaim Indianapolis. Technocrats, Christian communists, Hoosier Nationalists (yes, actually), ultramilitarists, normal democrats and republicans, occupied Wabashites who really don’t want to be a part of this. All of them in service of the reclamation… and liable to kill each other as soon as the HRNA hoists their flag over the state capitol.

10. Also, supported by the Smith and Wesson Arms Company. Whom radical elements regularly decry as bourgeoisie parasites, but still buy their guns.

11. Away from the Thunderdome, Amtrak is still trying to maintain tracks with dwindling train parts, extremely old cabins, and a whole lot of sweat and grit. Having their own army also helps.

12. Michigan City is lowkey the most chill place in Indiana, followed by northeast of Purdue and in New Prussia. They’re run by the descendants of the literal tourism board and the Indiana Dunes National Park Rangers, but they’ve got something cooking up in there.

13. Yep. Gary is still a shitshow, even after the apocalypse. War across the spectrum… the autism spectrum, really. A bunch of barely organized raiders larping as mobsters versus a bunch of barely organized militias larping as socialist revolutionaries. Somehow manages to be the most insane part of Chicagoland, and not for lack of effort from the rest of Chicago.

Whatever. At least it’s not Michigan.

Indiana is not a fun place to be during the post-post-apocalypse
