I want to be clear on moisturizing state

I didn’t print anything for 24 hours so it went into moisturizing state. I did not know that this happened. I only knew that if you don’t use it in 72 hours, it enters a cleaning mode that takes a bit of ink. I read that moisturizing state takes 2 mL of ink from every cartridge. that is insane. I go to my girlfriend’s every weekend for two days, which was perfect because I could’ve printed something the day I came back and then it didn’t go into the deep cleaning mode. Am I to understand that if I don’t make something every 24 hours I’m going to lose 2 mL of ink in every cartridge every weekend. If so, that sucks! Also, is there anything I can do about that like a setting because that’s not cool.
