Reolink camera streams causing Home Assistant UI to freeze?
I think I may have found the cause of a weird issue with my Home Assistant setup and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Sometimes my Home Assistant UI becomes completely unreachable at http://IP:8123. When this happens I can’t access it from the app or a browser, but the system itself is still running. The observer page (:4357) still loads and shows everything as healthy.
Looking through the logs, I noticed a lot of errors related to Reolink RTSP streams and go2rtc, like:
Error opening stream (Operation timed out)
rtsp://camera-ip:554/Preview_01_main
and
Error from stream worker
go2rtc unexpectedly stopped
Based on that, I tried disabling the camera stream entities in Home Assistant (not removing the whole Reolink integration, just the camera feeds). So far it seems more stable.
Has anyone seen Reolink camera streams cause Home Assistant to become unresponsive like this?
Is the better approach to use the substream, or avoid loading camera feeds directly in Home Assistant?
Just curious if others have run into this.
