What has been your experience with Scaler after attending their webinars or speaking with their team?
A few days ago I came across a free AI webinar from Scaler on Instagram and signed up out of curiosity. I just wanted to understand what’s happening in the AI space and what skills might be required in the future.
After registering, someone from the Scaler team called me and asked about my background and work experience. They explained their curriculum, the program structure, and some general details. At that point I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to join or not.
They then sent me a link to take a small test (18 MCQs). I completed it, and later they contacted me on WhatsApp saying I had passed the test and asked when we could discuss the next steps. I told them I wanted to attend the webinar first before deciding anything.
After attending the webinar, I just wanted to understand the AI roles, skills required, and possible career paths. Later they called me again and explained the full program in detail. The course duration is around 11 months and the total fee is about ₹3.5 lakhs, with an upfront payment of ₹20k.
I told them I would think about it.
They scheduled another Google Meet to answer any remaining questions. During that call they showed me the Scaler dashboard, how the platform works, and asked about my current skills and career goals.
At the end of the call I clearly told them that because of my financial situation I’m not comfortable enrolling in such an expensive program.
But the conversation suddenly became uncomfortable. The person kept insisting that I should join anyway because EMI options are available. He said I should at least enroll, observe the first month, and then decide. He mentioned that if I leave during the observation period the EMI would be cancelled and the ₹20k refunded.
I asked a simple question: if I continue after the observation period, I still have to pay the EMI for the full course, right? So financially it still doesn’t make sense for me.
After that the tone changed. He asked about my salary and said I should easily be able to afford it. He also implied that I was making excuses and avoiding the decision. At one point he even said that maybe I don’t have the right mindset to make career decisions and that I might not succeed if I think like this.
Honestly, that part made me very uncomfortable. I had already explained my situation and politely said I didn’t want to enroll right now.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with these kinds of program calls? I’m curious if this kind of aggressive persuasion is common with tech bootcamps.
