The risk reward of taking a statin with the new AHA/ACC guidance that came out last week

There is a tool that estimates your cardiovascular, ASCVD, and heart failure risk. Its called he PREVENT tool and it was updated last week to include people 30+ (it used to be 40+)

PREVENT tool: https://professional.heart.org/en/guidelines-and-statements/prevent-calculator

The AHA/ACC also updated the guidance of when lipid lowering therapy is reasonable or recommended. It's really long, but worth referencing. https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIR.0000000000001423?utm_campaign=prevent_calc&utm_source=phd&utm_medium=link

I took this new information and applied it to a listener question for my new youtube channel. Would love to know what you think. Thanks!
