To The One I Wait For
To The One I Wait For
People ask me every day, what am I searching for in my future love.
Honestly, I don’t really know.
But when I try to imagine you, I see fragments- your hair, swaying softly, jhumkas moving back and forth, your laughter echoing somewhere in my mind, your eyes, playful, alive.
They ask me why I’ve been waiting this long.
I don’t have an answer.
I don’t know when I will meet you, but I feel like I know you.
You would be kind, the kind who helps without thinking. You would be funny, lighting up rooms without trying.
You would sing, you would dance, as if the world itself was moving with you.
And you would have your flaws.
You might get angry too quickly, your cheeks turning red. You might get irritated by my stupid jokes. You might have days when life feels too heavy.
But to me, those flaws would be beautiful.
Because anyone can love you for your strengths- but I would love you for your imperfections.
And when people ask me when I’ll finally find you, it stings.
Because I don’t even know if you truly exist.
But I’ve been told patience brings people closer to what they’re meant to find.
So I’ll wait.
And I hope- somewhere, somehow, you’re waiting for me too.
