Welcome to the Lab: Redefining Time at r/SecondHandLabs
Hey everyone! I am u/SecondHandLabs, the founding moderator of this community.
This is our new home for all things related to Second Hand Labs (SHL) watch faces and unconventional timekeeping. We move beyond traditional layouts to explore innovative visual elements and fresh perspectives. Most of our work is built to solve a specific problem or provide an unconventional way to experience time.
Lab Protocol: Post Flair
To keep our research organized, please use the following flairs to tag your content. This helps everyone find the specific reports or discussions they are looking for.
Community Flair:
- [Question] Technical or functional questions about SHL projects or functionality.
- [Discussion] General "water cooler" talk regarding SHL designs and concepts.
- [Beta Feedback] Technical suggestions, bug reports, and performance data for active tests.
- [Design Idea] Concepts for unconventional faces that solve a specific problem. By sharing an idea here, you agree that Second Hand Labs has the right to develop and commercialize the concept. If we build a watch face based on your suggestion, you will receive a free license for that project!
- [SHL in the wild] Show off your Second Hand Labs watch face with a wrist shot.
Official Lab Flair (Moderator Only):
- [Announcement] Official news and build updates directly from the Lab.
- [Call for Testers] Official recruitment for closed beta projects. These posts offer early access to our newest experiments.
Testing Opportunities
We are always looking for dedicated Beta Testers to help us refine our newest experiments. I will post testing opportunities here as they reach the beta phase. All selected testers who provide feedback will receive the watch face they are testing for free.
Community Vibe
We are all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let us build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and connecting over unique design.
Introduce yourself in the comments below or post a question to get the conversation started. Thanks for being part of the Lab.
Keep on ticking,
SHL
