Momentum SMP General Season Lore

This will cover the lore of each individual season/what happened in very broad terms.

Season 1: Litestrike and SparksXV start out the server, build a train, build bases and vacation homes with SparksXV's vacation home having a laboratory. The season has no major conflict points, rather being centered on a place that is peaceful where people can build and make things that they want to create on the server, while also having opportunities for videos like trying to kill the warden with bees or videos about the building of certain structures. Overall, the season doesn't have anything too heavy in the story or lore as to what caused certain events.

Season 2: This season starts out in an icy biome, making it difficult to get a good start for most players. This paired with the fact that there are significantly more players than at the start of season 1 means that resources are scarce for the first day or so. Just like the previous season, once players have geared up and have gathered enough materials, they begin building all sorts of structures, this time having a dedicated shopping district along with fighting the ender dragon, however in this season the end data didn't get reset (apart from the terrain generation data), meaning that no new ender dragon egg is spawned after defeating the ender dragon (but end city locations are different). The players rapidly create all sorts of interesting builds and stories on the server, however little is recorded in videos as the players spend a lot of time on playing and not on content. There is a mayor election on the server which SparksXV wins by proxy (using his pig Technoblade as the representative), however eventually SparksXV causes some issues when he decides he wants to defeat 2 withers with 10000 bees. This causes server lag and makes the entire server unplayable for any members, causing Dutch0 to step in and tell Sparks to shut down his project, however Sparks was nearly complete with the entire project which meant that soon things would return to a less laggy state, so after Sparks defeated the 2 withers with bees Dutch0 becomes his parole officer and tells him to fix the server for 100 minecraft days. During this time Sparks and Litestrike have a tree war, with Litestrike trying to cut down every tree on the server and Sparks trying to plant as many trees as he can to make the server look nice again. This causes conflict until SparksXV makes a tree farm and Litestrike surrenders. Around this time a player named Spwiggle joins, which Sparks pays a visit to his megabase that was created in 4 days, and in the background SparksXV plans an event centered around the witherstorm. Lore wise SparksXV is conversing with an entity known as Badgen, the server admin of Momentum that was created in season 2, and is told that he has to kill Spwiggle 3 times in the witherstorm event in order for Momentum season 2 to end. During the witherstorm event each player only has 3 lives before they are banned for the duration of season 2, meaning that players have to defeat the witherstorm and stay alive within the alotted event time. Nearly every player exceeds this limit, with Dutch0, Spwiggle and SparksXV being the only ones to survive without losing all 3 lives. After the witherstorm is defeated, SparksXV kills Spwiggle and the server shuts off, leading into season 3.

Season 3: This season is by far the most lore heavy, with the start being a fairly normal process of gathering resources to build bases, however unlike previous seasons, very early on in season 3 factions began forming, with Litestrike, Spwiggle and Cucumbersyum forming into one faction and SparksXV and Dutch0 forming another faction, with the other members like InjuryBug, Hitronic, Kilomegaminx and others staying separate from the factions. SparksXV and Dutch0 quickly become the most geared players on the server, with a village on one of the islands that they claimed, whereas Litestrike, Cucumbersyum and Spwiggle decided to focus on sneakier tactics, stealing mooshrooms from a mooshroom island that SparksXV claimed, and gathering villagers secretly from a separate village. Spwiggle's association with Litestrike and Cucumbersyum was not publically revealed until the end fight, where Spwiggle fought against SparksXV and Dutch0, as this season the end data was reset and the dragon egg would spawn for a second time. SparksXV and Dutch0 obtained the dragon egg before Spwiggle could, however only slightly later Spwiggle managed to steal a barrier block from SparksXV when Badgen, the server admin, accidentally let one circulate into the server in item form, but soon after SparksXV and Dutch0 took the barrier block back from Spwiggle. This led to an event that SparksXV decided to host in which Kilomegaminx built a puzzle and Spwiggle needed to figure out the answer in order to get the barrier block from Sparks, however Kilomegaminx decided to trap the entire thing, killing both Spwiggle and SparksXV in the process. Spwiggle still obtained the barrier for correctly solving the puzzle, and soon after obtaining the block Spwiggle decided to host an event showing off "magic tricks" on the server, showcasing exploits in the server's datapacks as well as certain glitches native to vanilla minecraft, which he decided to trap with tnt minecarts, having his magic assistant CaidenHasPowers trigger the redstone to cause the explosion when he performed the final trick, however the server admin was brought on and temporarily banned Spwiggle for his use of these exploits. During Spwiggle's ban, Litestrike and Cucumbersyum decided to reform the faction with just the two of them, and built a large cobblestone tower on the server, which SparksXV promptly took down and exploded. When Spwiggle returned, he learned of this and figured he would side with SparksXV, along with Dutch0 and Sugarplate. The faction that Cucumbersyum and Litestrike created gained two new members, being GabeTheMuffin and Luxel, with a player named Jyxo supposedly siding with SparksXV's faction. These two factions fought a war, however after a singular battle Spwiggle decided to rain anarchy on the server, saying if the two factions still existed by a specific date, the server would be turned into anarchy. SparksXV decided to team up with the other team to trap Spwiggle, ending his crazy idea, however when they tried to trap him, CaidenHasPowers broke the trap, letting Spwiggle escape and cause mayhem on the server. This led to the two groups fighting withers and trying to keep the damages as close to spawn as possible, saving their megabases. Spwiggle fled to the coordinates for season 2, something that almost nobody on Momentum had done as going back to previous seasons didn't have any inherent benefit, and there he sought refuge until SparksXV tracked him down due to Dutch0's disappearance. SparksXV finds Spwiggle and upon killing him gets transported into an area with Badgen, where Badgen asks Sparks to become his disciple, and upon accepting Sparks is shown the entire history of Momentum, along with some sort of ominous unknown pit down to the deepslate layer that isn't shown in any other Momentum SMP videos up to this point (unknown what exactly that is). Badgen told him that he would need to find an opportunity to defeat Spwiggle eventually, and when that time would come he would need SparksXV as his disciple to defeat Spwiggle. After this, SparksXV and Spwiggle return to season 3, SparksXV now having a singular red eye, with Spwiggle's eyes going from both red to only one being red. After returning to season 3, Sparks and Spwiggle compete in a shop building competition that Jyxo hosts, in which they make their own unique shops, SparksXV having a shop called S. Cam. Co., which ends up winning 2nd place in the competition after Spwiggle's custom item texture shop which sold swords, bows and pickaxes with custom textures. After this event, Spwiggle announced that he would be disappearing from the server for a little bit, and hosted a treasure hunt event for the players to participate in, finding clues to point towards the treasure's true location, however the day before SparksXV had gathered all the players of Momentum to build a pyramid called the Badgen pyramid, which was placed directly where Spwiggle's island used to be, and he decided to use this event as an opportunity to defeat Spwiggle with the help of Badgen, and ban him off the server. The other players retaliate against SparksXV for banning Spwiggle, however SparksXV reveals that the sword he created has the ability to ban any player and warns the players to not rise up in opposition against him. This however, leads players to do exactly what he warned against, causing him to ban several players such as Sugarplate and Cheezymango, with Jyxo trying to help these players not get banned. Jyxo was done with SparksXV's killing spree at this point, but with no power to stop it all he could do was try to not get in his way. Jyxo eventually gets teleported in his dreams to a Badgen pyramid that instead of being made out of black concrete and redstone is made out of quartz and blue concrete. Here Jyxo meets Spwiggle, which although supposedly being banned off the server somehow exists in a separate dimension, the part of the dimension where he currently is residing being referred to as the forge. Spwiggle tells Jyxo that he should go to season 1 and that he will find something that will help him out there, and then Jyxo gets sent back to the overworld. Upon going to season 1, Jyxo finds a sword called the Corrupted Blade inside the laboratory that SparksXV had inside his vacation home from season 1. Beyond a custom texture, the sword doesn't seem to have any custom properties, however Jyxo holds on to it, and then suddenly Litestrike shows up in season 1 seeking refuge from SparksXV, as Litestrike claims that he is going to be killed next. Jyxo and Litestrike set up a trap for SparksXV, however things don't go according to plan and Litestrike ends up being banned from the server. The players of the server start to flock together to take down SparksXV, being led by Cucumbersyum, and they decide to try to defeat Sparks and take his ban sword. Cucumbersyum and SparksXV have a duel, in which Cucumbersyum almost dies, however before he can die SparksXV is teleported away along with Cucumbersyum being teleported to safety using an enderpearl stasis chamber. SparksXV, unsure of where he was teleported to, looks around and sees Spwiggle standing before him. SparksXV, now in the forge, is talked to by Spwiggle, and after a talk about how Sparks shouldn't ban any more players, Spwiggle makes "changes" on Sparks sword, the Omniprism (a blade that Spwiggle apparently originally had created), and then teleports him back to the overworld. SparksXV, in the base where Cucumbersyum was teleported to, tells the players that if they protect Cucumbersyum anymore then he will destroy the base that they are in, and after a 1v1 with Cucumbersyum, SparksXV bans him off the server, however his mentality shifts and he begins to see Badgen as an enemy. The server suddenly has a Herobrine entity spawn, causing the server and SparksXV to unite to take it down, and afterwards SparksXV goes to the Badgen pyramid where he receives a duel request from a server member named MemeLordTheThird. SparksXV and MemeLordTheThird start their duel where MemeLord uses an illegal item that was obtained to level the playing field against SparksXV's ban sword, however during the battle SparksXV shares how him and Badgen aren't on good terms ever since Cucumbers got banned, and after seeing that neither of them are going to win the fight, SparksXV asks MemeLord to go to season 1 to see if he can figure out a way to defeat Badgen, after which him and Jyxo go there and discover something underneath the laboratory in SparksXV's vacation home, basically a true laboratory with several interesting rooms inside. SparksXV goes to them before they get all the way through, presumably being puppeteered by Badgen, however Jyxo and MemeLord use a device in the center of the true laboratory to teleport all the players to a dimension known as the Void. Here they are greeted by Spwiggle, who acts as a guide for them through the Void, and they stumble upon a structure that teleports them into a separate dimension called the Saturated where they meet Litestrike, along with the rest of the players on the server being teleported inside the dimension randomly. The server members use this opportunity to gather and prepare to take down Badgen, speculating on what could've caused the server admin to become evil and try to destroy all the server members like this. After several days of preparing and discovering escape routes back to the overworld, SparksXV and the server members are finally ready to fight Badgen, leading them to have a final showdown in the Saturated where Badgen is in survival mode with over 2000 health points. They flee to the overworld to fight Badgen in a larger space than the arena they created, and suddenly get teleported to the Badgen pyramid, where Badgen begins summoning terrifying entities such as withers, ender dragons and witches, and then a train appears in the sky in which the players start turning the tides against Badgen, however in order to truly defeat him SparksXV would have to kill him with the Omniprism, and after a long fight Sparks finally deals the final blow, defeating Badgen, however after Badgen is defeated SparksXV gets the wither effect and dies. The players all get teleported to the Void dimension and SparksXV tells the players that the power of the Omniprism had taken a toll on him, meaning that he was technically banned to the Void now too. The players all gathered around to destroy the Omniprism in the Void, afterwhich SparksXV disappeared, ending the season (at least presumably ending the season)

Specifics for each season will be posted sometime in the near future, although these posts can only go off of publically available information, so it might not be 100% accurate or have all the information about what happened in the behind the scenes (unless one of the Momentum creators decided to share all of that in here lol)

It is unclear when Momentum will have a season 4, or what the plans for the future of Momentum are as the creators have been silent, SparksXV apparently not being online for another year at this point, however I hope that there is more cool Momentum stuff that will occur sometime in the near future (I'll be ready to post about it here when/if it does)
