I am at my wits end with my doctor's office, as they clearly have no idea about referrals and PA's. Any advice on what to do?

Claims/Providers

I have a medically necessary induction of labor scheduled for next Wednesday. I have Tricare Prime Remote as my health insurance, and they require referrals and PA's for just about everything. I've dealt with referral issues with this office before, so I made sure to tell them multiple times that they needed to submit a PA through Humana East for my inpatient hospital stay in advance. This was on Tuesday and so far, nothing has been submitted at all. Two of the people at the office claimed they had no idea what I was talking about and told me to call the actual hospital. I called the hospital and was passed around to four people, who were ultimately unable to help me.

I shouldn't have to be the middleman between an insurance company and a network hospital/provider. This shouldn't be my job to remind them about referrals and prior authorizations.

Who should I be contacting to make sure this prior authorization is submitted and approved? Billing & insurance at the hospital has been of no help and neither has any of the staff at my doctor's office. Also, what happens if this PA is not obtained in time? I have to be induced or my life and my child's life could be put at risk.
