Favorite Brewery by State: California

Discussion

On to California.....the #1 overall seed with an estimated 961 breweries, nearly doubling the count of its closest competitor (NY). While it lands 31st in breweries per capita due to its population, California leads the league in a couple other key statistics: the state brews 3.7 million barrels of beer per year which generates $8.9 billion annually. $8.9 billion! That's more than my Dad made in his entire life! (RIP Norm) The state is also considered the birthplace of craft beer with Anchor Brewing and New Albion being the OGs on the scene.
