Trouble with new M5 Max

I got my new machine and could not make the Migration Assistant to work from M1 Max to my new machine. It was for over 1.5 tb data, I used a Thunderbolt 4 cable. It kept stopping at some point. I rebooted my old machine and retried to no avail. Any suggestions please?
