Packing the mud with level 18-24s before and during warzone duel?
I'm a level 25 R4 for an alliance with mostly level 20-25 players in late preseason. On Saturday for Warzone Duel (we were defending), I found myself with some time and figured ... based on talks I'd had in previous warzone duels ... I don't want to pretend I'm coming up with this all by my lonesome ...
I advised the guys who came to fight to just take up space. Even if you have 0 troops, just port in and make the invaders ash us or take longer to get to the stuff they care about. I knew we couldn't stand in a fight between us and their 28-30 guys, but we could take up space they might like to be in.
I also figured that every attack, every bit of stamina, was energy and time they weren't spending hitting my capital and cannons - at least the way I see it.
I'd jump into World Chat (it wasn't being used for tactics, just general trash talk) and start saying stuff like "That all you got!" (think Aran Ryan in Wii Punch-Out).
I got ashed 25 times, my alliance mates probably added another 15-20 each. We won, and I'd like to think I helped delay some rallies from the other server and wasted their time just a little. Multiply that by 30-40, and they won't know which 24s and 25s have a punch and which are just enjoying a mud bath and laugh in the face of getting ashed.
Now my question - at what point does this tactic become counterproductive - in that I am getting in the way of my server's "adults" more than I am getting in the way of the other server's adults? Is this more useful on defense than offense?
(Also is there a time limit - if time runs out is it defender always wins or who has the highest percentage?)
I didn't want to suggest it to the other alliances on my server, until I got some feedback. But to me, it gives the level 18-25 people, and those who can't fight out of a paper bag something to do and be proud of. It's not just the whales and the big alliances, it all of us.
