No boarding pass after online check-in

I completed checkin online for my flight from Marrakesh but no boarding pass is accessible in the app and they only allow me to download a pdf which explicitly says "NOT a boarding pass". It says I'm required to do a document check (okay) but there's still a messagge saying I must print a boarding pass beforehand or they'll charge the additional fee for check-in. Can I ignore it or will they really just give me access to an online boarding pass after document check at airport and expect me to somehow print it myself a few hours before flight??
