Just ordered an Alibaba rack from Anhui Tap for $4,700 shipped DDP. I’ll report back once it arrives

Hi everyone,

I just ordered a rack from Anhui Tap on Alibaba. Total price was $4,700 USD, shipping included (DDP).

I hesitated for a long time between them and Qingdao Long Glory, but Qingdao’s prices were higher. I do not know yet if the quality will be lower with Anhui Tap, but it seems like quite a few people here have ordered from them and had a decent experience, so I decided to take the chance.

As you’ll probably notice, I added way too many small accessories that were not really necessary. But I figured that if I was already placing a big order from China, I might as well throw in a few extra things. Without all those extras, the total probably would have been around $1,000 lower. Still, they are things I expect to use, so I took the risk. We’ll see how the quality turns out.

I also spoke with Nantong BodyX, who apparently supply REP. They even show up at the top on ImportGenius for REP Fitness. But communication with them was more complicated. I got quotes from them, but there was a lot less discussion compared to the other suppliers.

I also ordered some spare cables and pulleys in case anything breaks, plus a few extra tubes so I can try mounting a boxing bag to it.

The bands are latex, which is why they were expensive.

I also added solid guide rods as an upgrade. That is something people should not forget when ordering from Anhui Tap, because otherwise the guide rods are hollow. That upgrade seemed important to me.

So now all that is left is to wait for production, and then shipping after that. I’ll come back here and post an update once everything arrives, in case it helps anyone else looking for real feedback on Anhui Tap.

I honestly think these racks are very overpriced in North America/Europe, and I am pretty sure they cost at least half as much in China. But if you buy something similar here, it seems like it is around $12K for REP and $15K for Rogue. On the other hand, there are also a lot of cheaper racks on the market that still come from China anyway.

After seeing that quite a few people had already bought from Anhui Tap, I felt like it was the best path to try, at least for a first order, and then I’ll see how everything goes.

I also ordered safety bars in case I decide to remove the Smith machine later. I have never tried that setup before, so I do not know yet if I will like it.

Have a good day everyone.
