In 2010, a Filair Let-L410 passenger plane crashed on approach to Congo’s Bandundu Airport, killing 20 of the 21 people aboard. According to the sole survivor, a crocodile smuggled onto the plane in a suitcase escaped mid-flight, causing mass panic which destabilized the aircraft.
