VA Disability Claims

I really do not understand all of these problems people have with claims getting denied and denied and denied. This is my story and I wouldn’t think I was just the lucky one.

47yo USMC VET out for 26 years

Used AMVET VSO

2021- submitted tinnitus and hearing loss. 1 week later tinnitus approved and hearing loss denied (expected)

2023 - requested service medical documentation. 14 months later it came in the mail.

2025 - submitted neck, back, rhinitis, OSA, bi lateral upper and lower radiculopathy. 5 months later all approved except neck and upper radiculopathy.

2026 - submitted supplemental claim for neck and bilateral radiculopathy. Submitted new claims for migraines, depression, and heart disease. All were approved in 1 month.

So basically all of my claims were approved except hearing loss. I only used my VSO (no lawyer or paid service). I reviewed all of my service and after service files myself and picked out the relevant ones. I feel the amount of time it took to get these done was fucking amazing for government work.

So again I do not understand everyone’s problems.
