Year 3....

Thinking back to the last year around draft time. I looked up the sirens GM to find out what his background was. He does not have a background of being part of winning organizations. If I remember correctly. During the draft I thought it was very interesting that he said that Fillier would play a large part in a decision making of who was going to be drafted and the composition of the team. The comment was something like this is her team.

The GM does not know how to construct a roster. Or I should say he does not know how to construct a roster that has the ability to win consistently. I still don't understand why he let Carpenter go or Eldridge. Abby, either. There we have Abby in Montreal thriving - while there was speculation in the siren universe that Abby was washed up. Carpenter wins a gold medal at the Olympics. Eldridge continues to be an impact player.

The sirens are made up of a great group of players for sure. But why do we only have rookie goalies? Where is the veteran goalie who can mentor the younger goalies?

It will come up that the coaching is holding the team back. I really think that the problem starts and ends with the GM. It's his responsibility to construct a winning roster. And he is lacking in those abilities to do so.

I know 3 years ago this was a newly formed League. Perhaps people who really had the experience and credentials, did not feel comfortable in taking a chance on a newly formed women's league. How about now?!! Just my thoughts. Feel free to disagree.
