as you can see, i listened to it gor the first time less than 48 hours ago and i am onsessed. didn’t bother listening before this bcs it seemed like the avg girl group rookie song that people are obsessed with and what made it worse is that people haven’t actually been talking about the SONG. i’ve only heard the chorus (amazing but the least impressive part of the song) and ofc the YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAID TO ME? which is cute but not impressive on its own, if you’re just coming across it on reels or something. just didn’t feel compelled enough to listen to it basically.

on the first listen, i noticed that their vocals are WEIRDLY perfect. a lot of them have really special things they can do with their voices which immediately made me think they aren’t from a random company. and then i found out they’re under SM and then i was sold. i’ve never actually realised it but i have a very special place in my heart for female vocalists from SM. i think you can tell when someone is from SM. they have such versatile voices that are displayed as such and i couldnt be more appreciative of it. one thing that made me think THIS IS SM MUSIC was the structure of the song and what they’ve done with it. i’m not musically inclined or confident enough to put it into words but having listened to most of the music that has come from any SM group, this fit perfectly into what they do.

these girls also feel so reminiscent of 3rd/4th gen (rookie) girl groups. something about the way they carry themselves, the way they are on camera (“casual” or formal), etc. i was watching the recording for rude and i don’t think i’ve ever watched the entirety of one of those videos for any group ever but they all have something so captivating that is so fun to look at.

i have so much more to say about the song itself but i’ll get to that when i’ve listened to it more (yes, i listen to all music obsessively) and am able to put things into proper words :)

make meee act riiight🎵
