Swimwear

My 12 year old told me he’s trans in January. Everything is going well so far with transitioning. All his friends were already calling him his preferred name. He doesn’t want to change anything with the school until next school year. He’s got a great therapist.

Suddenly I’ve realized summer is quickly approaching. What do young trans boys do for swimwear? Also period swimwear? Do we just buy a swimsuit then put swim shorts and a swim shirt over the top? He wears a binder sometimes but also isn’t very large chested so seems fine not wearing one all the time (also has sports bras). Any tips and advice appreciated. It would be great if it wasn’t crazy expensive as well.
