AVOID PETS BEST INSURANCE

We got a new puppy in December and I immediately signed him up for pet insurance. About a week later, he got attacked by an off leash dog (he’s ok thankfully) and we rushed him into the vet.

I tried submitting a claim through the insurance and here is what they said:

“This claim was denied because the date of service was 1/3/2026. The illness waiting period did not expire until 1/9/2026. Since the Undiagnosed Illness occurred within the waiting period, it is not eligible for coverage. We truly apologize for any frustration this may cause.

We understand that this may have been related to a dog attack. If you disagree with the outcome of this claim, you do have the ability to appeal.”

On what planet does a dog attack qualify as an “illness”

I am considering a lawsuit because I’m that heated… and petty.
