Spiro for facial hair?
(25F) have always had thick, dark body hair, which I assumed was genetic/due to my ethnicity. Over the past few years, I’ve started getting coarse dark hairs on my chin. It’s not super visible, but I’m plucking 5–10 dark hairs every couple of days, and they grow back quickly. They also cause ingrowns and breakouts, and it’s become a major insecurity.
From what I’ve read, this could be a hormonal imbalance, and I’ve seen people mention spironolactone. I’ll obviously talk to a doctor (wondering if I have PCOS), but I’m curious—has anyone had success with spiro for facial hair like this?
I’ve heard some good things, but I’m a bit nervous about side effects (a friend of mine took it for acne and got kidney stones).
I’ve also considered laser (had great results on my bikini area), but I’ve heard it can worsen hormonal hair growth. Electrolysis is another option, but heard that it’s expensive and slow. Would appreciate any experiences or advice.
