Hi,

So bringing back a discussion I had in a comment about Violet and Eloise's dynamic in s4 which you can check out above- where do you think Violet and Eloise's dynamic goes in s5 onwards to Eloise's season in s6?

I have to say that one aspect that thrills me is that Eloise (so far) is the only daughter to push back against Violet's ideals regarding the marriage mart- Daphne was the mini me in s1 (which felt very similar to Aramintha and Rosemund's dynamic to some extent but of course this one was a bit more toxic), Francesca is the one who's more pragmatic and approaching it with no big expectations and standards in s3 (i.e. until she meets John) and Hyacinth in s4 was very full on towards the marriage mart, something that got challenged and now will have Hyacinth pull back a little which might change in the 2 year time jump. I think also part of it is Eloise and Violet share kindred rebellious spirits and I hope that aspect is touched upon in s5 or even the Violet prequel (I feel that a separate Shondaland team produced the series already because we did oddly get a young Violet and the Ledgers reunion pic last year) so I'm just wondering what is going to be the dynamic moving forward?

Because s4 began with this early conflict between Violet and Eloise (which was very similar to how Violet treated Anthony in s1) and the last proper scene was Violet subjugating Eloise to play nice to suitors even though it made her uncomfortable (is it just me or did it feel like a situation where you're being sexually harassed and somebody misconstrued it as attention? Please be kind as I have been in a similar situation which is why I've been a little distant and non supportive of Violet in s4, particularly in that episode). So I do wonder what Violet and Eloise's dynamic is shaping up to be, especially with a 2 year time jump where Violet would not spare Eloise or she did with the hopes that eventually Francesca will help ease Eloise into marriage (much like a s3 mechanism)?

What are you guys wanting to see? Because this also aligns with the dynamic that Violet faces in the even seasons with Anthony and Benedict and eventually Eloise becoming the first daughter to really put up a mirror to Violet's well-meaning but incredibly pushy instincts/ rose colored glasses on an 'ideal' love match. Another element would be Edmund being more prominent (Anthony's flashback of Edmund's death, or John's death bringing up a memory of Edmund as well as Edmund appearing as a spectre through his portrait in important scenes) so maybe we see Eloise's dynamic with Edmund, because it would be great to see a father-daughter dynamic (which is a small callback to when Eloise made sure that Pen would be okay following Archie's death in 1x08) much like Violet-Lord Ledger's relationship.

I'm intrigued to hear other people's thoughts on this because at first, upon watching s4, I felt a little isolated in my thoughts of Violet being too hard on Eloise and I would like to see Violet kind of having the mirror turned on her because I feel Violet-Eloise dynamic mirrored a little bit of Aramintha-Posey's relationship. And as much as Violet revels in being one of the more forward moms of wanting a love match for her children, she very often has not come to a point where she attempts to understand or empathize with the ones who push against marriage (Anthony, Benedict, Eloise, even Francesca although she has this deep surrender that it's just the way the system is built). One example is Anthony revealing why he wants an amiable marriage in 2x03 where she realizes that there's something deeper with ties to Edmund's death and she only acknowledges it in 2x08 when Anthony breaks down upon knowing that Kate recovered.

That's just my piece on it but would love to know other people's thoughts.
