Tummy time mats and scorpions

For those of you who have had babies in Phoenix, how do you store their tummy time mats to properly prevent scorpions from crawling under them?

I have twins so I usually have one mat on the floor at all times to help prevent them from just laying on their heads while I tend to the other, and I try to remember to give them a good shake out before using them again, but twin parenthood is also a working assembly line.

While not cute to look at, im considering just getting a large tote from Sam's to cram them into but curious about others experiences and set ups!
