Someone followed me and my sister one night
This was a while ago, so the details may be a bit hazy, but a couple years ago i had just moved out of my dads place and into my sisters place. we were both in a party time of our life. We were throwing a small get together and she suggested picking up some… flowers. I agreed and offered to drive (thank god) so we go. It’s pretty late at this point maybe 11 to midnight? Anyways we’re driving and having our own little concert to 2000s songs. My sister was holding the gps and kept forgetting to tell me when to turn. We were really locked in on Hannah Montana. So we go very far off the original path. After missing the 5th maybe 6th turn, we were on a back road, i just say screw it and decide to put the car in reverse to make the correct turn. i’m sure you all know, reversing requires you… to look behind you and in your mirrors. so i was sure, No one. else. was behind me. I take the original left the GPS said to take. and immediately, a pair of headlights pop up behind me. Which was weird because i’m pretty sure directly behind me was a field. I instantly get this feeling of dread, but continue driving and say nothing. About 10 seconds later. the car behind me rides my car so close any little break wouldve made us crash. like i said it’s a back road (almost gravel like) so the speed limit was 30. i still say nothing to my sister (she tends to be a worrier). i just start speeding up. 40… still right behind me. 50…. still right behind me… my sister then notices how fast im going so i tell her i think someone is following us. almost as soon as i say this. another car appears from behind the second car. GETTING ONTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. so now there’s one car behind me and one car directly to the left of me. hes not forceful but it’s clear the guy on the left is trying to slightly run us off the road. at this point im going at least 75 in a 2012 little nissan versa. they’re still right on us. My sister then says…. maybe they need help to change a tire or something we should pull over. I, of course, refuse… (don’t judge her she’s just a girl). Now mind you these back roads have insane sharp curves and a very slim pavement. Any mistake from me, we would’ve crashed and god knows what else… At this point i roll the windows down and tell my sister to scream as loud as she possibly can. i start blaring on the horn. i’m shaking so bad i don’t even know how i’m staying on the road. no one is around of course. we’re in the middle of nowhere. they don’t care they’re just riding to the left and right behind. At this point my sister is completely freaking out, hyperventilating and sobbing. i’m trying to calm her but while blaring the horn and focusing on the road, im not much help to her. Somehow by some god forsaken miracle(to this day i have no words for how perfect the timing was) … my sister gets a call… it’s my Ex/ friend at the time. She calls to ask if everything’s okay… because we were taking a long time so she decided to check life 360 and saw how fast we were going. my sister tells her what’s going on. She then says “Im looking on the maps…. if u keep going it’s a dead end. it leads straight to a body of water. I instantly felt so sick to my stomach. At this point. I’m so fueled with adrenaline i feel like i’m not even in my own body. She then however, says there’s one last turn we can make. but it’s coming up quickly. so i pulled into this run down electrical building parking lot. Made a really sharp and fast u turn. (To this day my sister swears she has no idea how i managed to not crash or flip the car) so we’re now turned around, and thought they gave up. We then see their headlights come speeding towards us. they’re right behind us again. So we scream and i blare the horn again. this time though, a car from the oncoming lane was passing through. this eventually forced them get into the correct lane, and slow down a bit. but we did not. I kept going. we were then able to turn onto a more lit road. with the help of my friend. still in the middle of nowhere but this time there’s a gas station and some street lights. They instantly back off and we lose them. I am very convinced this was some sort of trafficking situation. we made it home completely safe. called my dad and he convinced us it was nothing and we were paranoid (i was completely sober btw) and told us not to call the cops. so i’ll never truly know what happened that night. but i still get freaked out driving at night. I still check my review mirror every couple seconds. something i never truly got over. So thank you to my ex. i hate you but u saved my life that day and more importantly my sister’s
