What to do as a family member of addict?

So i just found out one of my cousin is addicted to drugs and I don’t know what and how to feel about it . He admitted it recently. I want to know more on what are the things to look upto. How to structure family so that he can feel safe yet help to recover. I don’t know what to do and i am clueless. Suggest me something and how the addict mind works and what things to avoid and how really to approach him to his better life. We came to know as he got into accident and had to be admitted for 6 days and he started to act weird , suspicions grew and he recently has been acting crazy and shouts give threats. He has a rod in his leg he shouldn’t be moving a inch but he stands and walk to run away and have drugs. His mind is going crazy i am clueless plz help me
